I've only had my new Whirlpool fridge a short time (2 weeks), so this review is conditional. I like the 'in fridge' water dispenser and the ice machine in the freezer section versus in the fridge compartment - a very nice feature. So far the freezer produces ice very quickly and the amount is measured. No complaints so far.

When I remodeled my kitchen and replaced all of the appliances including the refrigerator. I pitched the refrigerator in Nov 2023 but it wasn't installed until March 1 2024 when the remodel was complete. Since then, the compressor has gone out, the right hand door seal has been replaced and the main board has been replaced. I have lost food twice because it quit cooling. I have purchased Whirlpool products for decades and have never had this experience. Going to make me think hard the next time I purchase appliances!

We bought this refrigerator about a year and a half ago, I would warn everybody NOT to get this, I know it is a simple refrigerator, but there are no alarms to let you know if the doors are not closed, especially the freezer. If the freezer is not completely closed it frost over in the matter of hours and then takes days for it to go back to normal. One of my biggest complaints is just about every time you pull the freezer compartment. Open to get ice it dumps new ice all over the bottom of the refrigerator, what genius did not put a sensitivity switch to pause. The ice dumping when the tray is not there. One other thing is the water dispenser inside the refrigerator. The cap on it has fallen off since about two weeks after we have gotten the refrigerator very annoying it will fall in your drink when pushing the button to receive water. This refrigerator will keep your stuff cold, but that™€™s the only upside. Do not buy.!!

Ice maker jams constantly

Have had right at 5 years. The ice maker jams all day everyday so we had to purchase a counter top ice maket. The fridge model has poor designed shelves. In order for a 1/2 gallon cardboard milk to fit on floor of fridge, it caused a very narrow second shelf that is useless on one side. The temp in doors is too warm for milk so has to go on shelf. I had the first model of this fridge and it was 1000% more spacious and better designed. They cheaped out on this design and I hate it. The freezer is also limited on space. The top shelf has non moveable dividers that make last 4 inches unreachable so unusable. The ice SPILLS EVERYWHERE every time you open freezer. The arm knocks it all over even when you are careful. Also the ice bucket has permanent dividers that take up a ton of space. When you pull out freezer drawer it also pulls out top shelf and the top shelf blocks access to bottom shelf. Just terrible design. Would not buy again or recommend.

This was a replacement for a prior unit made by Whirlpool which malfunctioned just before the 5 yr warranty expired. It took many months for Whirlpool to.acknowledge a refrigerant leak. The replacement provided operates well, but has some cosmetic defects in its construction which don™€™t affect performance. We sometimes hear a sound like paper blocking a fan when the compressor is active. The sound began soon after taking delivery. Not confident how long the unit will operate properly and less confident that Whirlpool will quickly agree to honor the warranty.

Bought this a couple of years ago to replace an LG whose compressor failed after 9 years. The price was right but not the features we necessarily wanted as this was what was available in the aftermath of COVID. We do a lot of our own cooking, and we make use our refrigerator. I have installed an AcuRite thermometer in the refrigerator and freezer compartments to monitor performance. We feel that the owner must be vigilant about certain features and requirements in order to get expected performance. These are as follows: *The freezer compartment has no door alarm in case it is left ajar. *The freezer compartment if fully loaded can be a heavy push to make sure it is totally closed. *The inside door water dispenser will leak slightly, and a paper towel section is inserted to catch any drips in order to prevent the buildup of humidity. *The freezer compartment drawer slots must not be covered fully by food packages. The freezer drawer should not be fully loaded with frozen food packages in order to allow air circulation. *During a defrost period, the refrigerator compartment can on occasion go below freezing. I have noticed this in some food items. *During normal operation for our level of activities, temperature control can vary 7-8F in both compartments. *Filer replacement can be difficult. Proper alignment can be tedious, and leakage may occur. Notice the maximum and minimum 24 hr. temperature for a defrost cycle example in the photo below.

Cheaper but Featureless

Bought this a few years back to replace an LG whose compressor went. It's O.K. but you have to be vigilant. There is no door alarm on the freezer and things will thaw if left slight ajar overnight. The freezer compartment drawer can get to be a heavy push if overlaiden. I have installed an AccuRite thermometer monitoring system on both the refrigerator and freezer compartments. During a defrost period which is quite frequent the refrigerator compartment can go below freezing (27F) for a time and I have noticed some partial freezing in goods at times. During a non-defrost period, the temperature control can vary a good 7-8 F in both compartments. There is some minor leakage from the internal water dispenser which requires a paper towel insert to prevent increased humidification. A full freezer compartment drawer can reduce the ability to freeze properly if the drawer slots are covered completely. Filter replacement can be difficult at times with major leakage if proper alignment isn't present.

I am disappointed in this fridge. It is noisy and the manual says that is typical, to be expected. The drawers do not slide easily. I wish I had replaced the compressor in my former fridge instead of replacing it. The repairman said that is expensive. I suckered in but that fridge was much better than this one. I used to be a fan of Whirlpool but my opinion has fallen after buying this fridge and a stove .

Ice Maker works great although it "throws" ice all over everything when it empties, it has no problems keeping up with demand. Have to get on hands and knees to remove the build up of ice at the bottom of freezer area ever so often. Not a terrible problem to have but bad design. Water filter easy to change. The drawer is way too deep. No reason to have the bottom drawer in the fridge that deep. Stuff gets lost back there. It could use some more shelves in the doors, take away some of that useless bottom drawer space and put some in. It is very roomy but would be nice if the shelves slid out like my last one. The doors do not seal very well and condensation builds up and drips on the floor when the doors are opened. The seals are defective and cheap. Not sure how to approach fixing that. Pay to have new seals put in? I think not. Hard to get under the bottom of the front of the fridge with my vacuum attachment to clear out any dust/debris that might accumulate even after taking front "grill" off to reach in. All in all it is an okay fridge. So far, no cooling issues of any kind, which is great. I liked the design of the French door refrigerator I had before this one much more, but it was not reliable. This one is, so far. Sacrificed door shelves and slide out shelves and better bottom drawer design but reliability is the key and this one seems to have that.

Lot of room and great options for space Not a fan of the inside water dispenser, Rarely use it with being inconvenient and needing to hold the glass with door open and close to all that youre keeping cool.

Two months after purchasing this unit the valve went out. Shorty afterwards the ice maker quit working and hasn™€™t worked for four of the almost five years I have owned it. Would not recommend.
